Center for a Reasoning Society

The Center for a Reasoning Society (CfaRS) is a think tank
devoted to promoting the use of sound reasoning in societies,
large and small, around the globe.  CfaRS (pronounced "see farz")
facilitates research, scholarly inquiry, topical forums, and project-
driven development and investigation.  For more information, to
suggest a project, or to offer a contribution, contact Mission of
Reason through the
Contact MOR link.

Project areas include environmental, cultural, and international
policy, as well as specific problems in the development of
reasoning like social implementation of quantitative reasoning and
the treatment of evidence and science in political decision-making.

Reasonable Person Service
CfaRS provides the Reasonable Person Service to the public.
Many laws in our land have as their basis the perspective of the
"Reasonable Person."  The qualifications of this person are
generally:
  • Reasonably unbiased in the particular situation
  • Not deluded into accepting irrational alternate realities as
    real
  • A rational and methodical approach to decision-making
  • Has as their primary objective to make the most informed
and reasonable judgment in a given situation
  • Reasonably skeptical of assertions, in that evidence must
be provided and claims must hold up under critical
    analysis in disregard to insistence.
  • Reasonably well educated
The service is provided free of charge in cases of interest to
CfarRS, but there is a charge associated in most cases involving
dispute resolution, polling, legal benchmarking, etc.  MOR
provides reasonable people in a range of gender, age, ethnicity,
and other characteristics. To inquire about this service please use
our
Contact MOR link.
